Great Golden Digger Wasp

Great Golden Digger Wasp

The open powerlines at B. W. Wells SRA provide a sunny environment for summer wildflowers. This is the Great Golden Digger Wasp nectaring on Narrowleaf Mountainmint, common in the powerlines. Adult wasps of this species feed on nectar from wildflowers and serve as good pollinators.
